75 more to go

Let's hear it people, only 75 more days to go. I can't wait. I know, I know, when the girls get here I will be wishing that they were right back where they started, but seriously, it's getting old and they must come out soon. I am feeling out of space and out of patience. I measured my belly the other day(ok so it was like two weeks ago, but who's counting). I am 44 1/2 inches around. That has to say DELIVERY right! I mean how big can you get! Seriously people it's time, just 75 more short days to go.

Fred Flintstone?!

Sorry, the video wouldn't upload, I'll try later.

My friend (thanks Angela), was getting rid of this little car and I knew that I wanted one for Myles in a few months so we took it.  I have seen how much fun my nephews have all had in the very same cars at my moms house.  Myles doesn't have the hang of how to move his feet to make the thing go yet, but it was the first day so I will cut him some slack.  We spent an hour and a half outside the other day going between the car and the tree swing.  It's going to be fun when we can all be outside together.  My landlord gave us a green caterpillar tree swing that is for two.  So as soon as the girls are big enough we can all swing together.  It's really fun for Myles.  He loves being outside and since the weather is good this week it was a perfect time.  We finally did have some winter weather the last couple of weeks, but I think that most of it is over and we are back to springtime beauty.  Gotta love So. Cal.

Tour of California

So I really needed to get that picture of my belly off the front page news!  We had a fun weekend planned for Saturday.  The Tour of California was making the second to last stop, stage 7, in Pasadena this year.  We road the train to Pasadena, took a free shuttle to the Rose Bowl and had a great time eating and watching as the bike racers all came rushing by at about 30 miles an our.  We had a great view and it was very exciting to see all the familiar faces of the men we watch in the Tour de France each year.

Myles was even really interested. When the racers would come by our spot everyone would clap, hoot, and ring their cow bells.  Myles would smile and clap his hands wildly.  It was very cute.  We were lucky to get a spot on the loop.  The end of stage 7 was 5 laps around the Rose Bowl. We were lucky enough to get a spot only 150 M away from the finish line.

Poor Myles missed his nap because of the timing of the race, but he made it through most of the race, only falling asleep in the last lap.

20 weeks

So I'm already a few weeks late in posting this.  These maternity pants don't fit anymore.  I can wear them, but they cut off the circulation to my ever expanding belly.  I don't know what I am going to wear at the end of the pregnancy if I am already growing out of maternity clothes.  In case you are wondering that is a 20 weeks, not a 02 weeks.  I had to take the pictures in the mirror.

Selfish or Not?

I'm just interested to see what everyone else thinks about this mother of the Octuplets.  Keep in mind that she already has 6 kids at home,  lives with her parents, has no job, no education and no spouse to help share the load.  So what do you think?

Here is what I think:  I'm not fond of the Doctor who would transfer SIX embryo back to her uterus.  Especially when the CDC recommendation is no more than 4.  In other parts of the world Doctors can loose their medical license if they transfer more than one.    I also don't like the fact that Cal. tax payers are going to pick up the tab for this little adventure she has embarked upon.

Now don't get me wrong.  I think that IVF is wonderful technology.  I have been the beneficiary of it twice now, but I don't think that a single mother of 6 who isn't self sufficient should having this many children.  At some point I wonder when the state is going to have to step in and take some of the children due to neglect.  It's almost inevitable when there is only one parent to go around to 14 kids who are going to have very special needs.

A belated Christmas post

For Christmas 2008 we packed up the car, with the dog and Myles in tow,  and drove to Utah.  The weather wasn't good and I had my doubts that we would even get there, but to my surprise we made it in one piece and in good time.  We left after work one evening and drove through the night so that Myles would sleep the whole way.  A great plan till we arrived in Bountiful the next morning at 7:30 am and Myles was ready to roll, while mommy and daddy were like death warmed over.  I had done most of the driving, not that Bjorn was sleeping, but I just couldn't stay awake any longer.  I ran across the street to Grandma and Papa's house where breakfast was in full swing.  I said hello and dropped the kid off.  Love having grandparents!  After some much needed sleep the days events were well underway and the holiday season was officially upon us.

You have to love the holidays at the Nakaya household.  It starts with Gingerbread house making, cookie icing, playing in the snow, papa shoveling the entire neighborhoods driveways, GREAT food and lot's of it, the adults staying up WAY too late to play games, a Christmas eve pageant with all the little kids in costume and some talents on display, TOO many gifts to count and much much more.  This year the girls all piled in the car the day after Christmas to head Salt Lake to see the Ballet the Nutcracker.  I've done this many times in my life, but none as fun as to be there with my mother, sister, sil's, and niece.  What a fabulous holiday!

Drum roll please...

Well the verdict is in. Can you guess what sex the twins are? It's not what I thought, but someone else guessed right on. Yep, we are having two......GIRLS! We are excited and are now accepting all donations (j/k) as it will be more expensive to dress these two little bundles of joy!
