Special Delivery!

Myles announces the arrival of his two baby sisters, Audrey and Lydia.  They made an entrance into the world on Thursday the 14th.  I had a doctor's appointment that morning and when I got there he didn't like my BP, 150/100.  Nothing unusual since we have been battling this for weeks now.  He wanted me to go across to the hospital but I didn't want to go because I had done this so many times before and they always send me home after several hours.  I told Dr. Li that they just laugh now when they see me coming.  He assured me that he would either deliver the girls today or that I would be admitted until their arrival.  I was caught of guard by this so I asked if I could go home and get a few things in order.  He said NO! Not with blood pressure like that.  So I walked across the street to the hospital where I was indeed to have a c-section that afternoon.

After calling Bjorn and getting all the loose ends tied up we were in the operating room for no more than 5 min. and the girls were out!  Audrey(in the first picture) was born at 3:33, and was crying as soon as she came out, butt first.  She weighed in at 5lbs. 1 oz. and 17 inches long.  Her little sister, Lydia, came just one min. later at 3:34, head first and weighed in at 4lbs. 9 oz. and 18 1/2 inches long.  She too was crying.

Both girls went to the NICU, but were doing really well.  Audrey has since been sent out to the well baby nursery, while Lydia( who looks just like Bjorn) is still working on a few eating and oxygen issues.  We hope that she will be out of the NICU by Thursday or Friday of the coming week.  I will be discharged Monday and will be taking Audrey home barring any complications.  We are very blessed to have had such beautiful, healthy baby girls!

Congratulations, Brooke! Good to hear that the girls are doing well:) Now the fun of juggling 3 kids is finally here! I thought I had no time with one child but now I end everyday with negative time(if that makes sense). I am already so behind on everything! Big hugs to you and your family!

Yeah! So happy for you. Glad to hear that the girls are doing well. Hopefully you'll all be home together before the weeks end. Just be sure to get the first one sleeping through the night before the second comes home...lol.

Good luck! Keep us posted...it's like reading my future.

I got teary eyed looking at these pictures....even though I've already seen them. What a miracle. I can't believe they are finally here.......so healthy (you couldn't ask for better looking 34 weekers) and just so beauitful. Seeing them (and you looking so remarkably well)was such a highlight. They really are the cutest little girly twins ever! :)

Way to go Mom, Dad and Myles!!! What a relief to finally have the girls in your arms...they're perfect, and big bro looks so very proud and happy (love those curls!). Sending long distance kisses until we get our hands on all the wee ones, hopefully soon. Wishing you lots of energy to keep up!

Arrived in Florence today and finally had access to the internet to check for photos. The girls look wonderful and I am so happy they arrived safe and are doing remarkably well. They are beautiful and it will be interesting to see how they look when they grow...so different from Myles! Love the curls BTW! Cant wait to see you all in a couple of weeks. Hugs and kisses...call you on Tues.

Thanks for giving me the link - they are beautiful - and they look strong and healthy!!

Can't wait to meet them - if I wasn't such an invalid myself, I'd offer to help.

I am sending good thoughts and prayers for all!!

Hurray they are here and healthy. You are amazing to have such healthy good sized twins. Thanks for calling. I've been a little afraid to call back because I would hate to interrupt anyone's nap. Sleep is so precious with new babies. Enjoy your sweet baby girls, and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it.
