And the clumsey award goes to.......................

So yesterday we went to our mates house to have a little play date for our boys.
I was going GREAT until the end.
They have this door, kind of like a horse stable door where it's cut a little shorter than a normal door and opens out to their back yard.
So I ducked to go through and put Masaru on the see saw and then turned around and whacked myself on the head trying to get back through.
Who knows what I was thinking.
Clearly I wasn't I guess.
ANYWAY I guess I walked into it so hard I fell backwards onto my back.
It was pretty amazing.
I didn't even see it coming man.

So Isaac is laughin at me saying "Melissa, what are you doing on the ground you silly girl?"
I had nothing for him.
Masaru starts crying because all of a sudden his mum's on the ground and blood is coming out of her head.
For a second I thought "Ok nobody but a 3 year old saw me, maybe I can get away with this"
Then I had one look at my hand, full of blood, and thought "Nope can't get away with it, I have to go inside and tell Mandi"
Can I just say how EMBARRASSED I was going inside and telling Mandi all about this.
So she was shocked and horrified of course and gave me a nice towel which got ruined.
She said I could keep it LOL
I got a cut on my hairline. Then I got a HUGE scrap and bruise on my forehead AND a huge bruise under my eye.
But there you have it.
So then we've got Masaru, Isaac, Alex and Yuki all crying at once in the house and Mandi said over the din "I guess that means we're done here!"
So I drive home holding onto my face with a towel with blood on it.
I make it home and call Dru, and he laughs at me but is trying to be nice about it.
It took me the longest time to tell him what happend cause I was so embarrassed about it.
I told him when he sees me he could have one free laugh, then after that HE GETS IT.
So if you see me I'll tell you the same free laugh then YOU GET IT.

Milz, only I do things like this. I'm sorry, that does look quite painful. Glad you had a great play date at the beginning however. Just don't go into any stores with Dru, they will think he did this to you!

Wow, what a shiner! That really sucks!! Brooke is right, you look like a victim of abuse. I hope you feel better soon and that it doesn't hurt as much as it looks like it would.

Wow you do deserve the award. LOL! I have honestly done worse, just ask Colleen and Stacey how clumsey and spacey I can be. I hope you're feeling okay, and don't have a huge migraine! It's always a good laugh later on right? Take care

Yikes, I can't believe you survived to tell this tale. I can't wait to use my free laugh. I can't believe we only get one. Wasn't it you who was telling me a story about an old lady with a cane who fell and a young lady (that would be you) laughing so hard she had to leave the room?

Holy Crap, Melissa. That's from a door? That door has some power! You tell Dru you deserve something special for 1. actually doing that 2. being laughed at. YEOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW! Maybe you can call RS for dinner. j/k

Well, since we Nakaya's have no sympathy for our own, we'll be using our free laugh tomorrow. See you soon bruiser.

Melissa, I'm so sorry. To help you feel better, I could tell you about the time I stepped on the wrong side of a rake and got the handle in my eye, or the time I was sleep walking and fell down the stairs, resulting in a bad sprain, or the time I was looking into a well, and fell in headfirst, but I don't think I will. They are WAY TOO EMBARRASSING! But I will tell you that my nickname growing up was none other than... Gracie! Let me know if I can do anything for you. You do still look beautiful, even with a shiner! You Go girl!

Melissa...what are doing to yourself? Don't worry about it...i do things like that all the about a month ago i was running down our stairs and i slipped and fell on my butt and my calf hit the edge of the step really hurt soo much but it went away and i thought all was good but a few days later my calf started hurting and it got so bad i couldn't walk on it anymore...which lasted about a week! was so painful! At first Leonard kept telling me to toughen up but then he could see that it was fully swollen and red and so then he started to care a bit.
I hope your face is feeling better ...that was one heck of a hit!
