A little of this and a little of that...

I don't really have much to report on this month. I've been thinking about something to write but I just can't think of anything good. I guess some "news" is that I've been released at the primary secretary. But the other news is that I was called at the 2nd counselor in the primary presidency. I wasn't without a calling at all...I'm not really thrilled about the calling because there are so many problems in our primary, but maybe a new team of "worker bees" will fix the problem. Let's hope so.

On a better note, we visited the snow on Sunday. About an hours drive and there we were with what little snow was left from a storm several weeks ago. It was cold and Myles didn't love any of it. He cried the entire time and Yoda was cold too. When we got back in the car it read 35 degrees. We hadn't thought it would be that cold.

Here are just a few random pictures of the baby. He's growing so fast. I'm guessing he is about 18 lbs. and about 25 inches long. He is a tank. He's making a mess of my back and my arm. But he's so great! We love all the smiles he gives us now and he's starting to really interact.

Hot, Hot, Hot!!

Well this week has been so hot. It got up to 34 degrees celsius. No idea what that is in farienheight. I've got no idea how to spell that by the way. Maybe it's arouond 100. I dunno. Anyway Dru's neck is pretty dark and he's pretty red on his face. He's been doing outside work all week. So he's been really feeling it, poor guy. But I've been loving it. I think it's great all this hot weather. My Auntie came up from Christchurch to visit with us for the week. She's good fun and we've had a good week with her. She's off today to visit with her brother. He lives in Hamilton, so that should be fun for her. She'll be back up to visit around Easter, she thinks. So that'll be great. Masaru got along with her well. We went on a wonderful bush walk the other morning, Yuki in the frontpack, and Masaru in the front. Maree and I almost got lost cause we were talking to much and got our mind off track!!! But Mum soon pulled us back into line and we were fine. The walk is right by a beautiful river which is clear and crisp. It's wonderful. Kinda like the Milford Track rivers.
Llewellyn and his family are off for a 10 day trip down to Nelson, in the South Island. So Dru and I are going to live in their place and have some time out! It'll be nice to be just our family for 10 days. I'm sure mum will enjoy the break as well.
We're going to the beach tomorrow and then the McClaren Falls. It's so beautiful there. I'll try to get some pictures for everyone. These pictures are of all of us. Ryotaro is holding Yuki at the top. He is my brother, Llewellyn's, oldest boy. He starts High School this year in February. So that's exciting for him. He's super brainy but still needs work on social skills. Good, good boy. The photo of Masaru in the cape is the same cape that I used to wear at his age. Mum made it just for me. It was my Super Woman cape. Llewellyn had a Superman cape and Sarah had a Smurf cape and Gareth got Batman. So I got a little emotional about that and thought I'd take a pic of him racing around in it. Funny those little things.
Today is a good day for Masaru's potty training. 100% success rate so far. Fingers crossed.

3 and a half months old

Well this week has been slower since having the Kayberry's gone. Back to work and life as usual.
We went to help drop the Kayberry's off on Saturday and decided to leave early so we could go to the Aquarium called 'Kelly Taltons' in Auckland. We thought the kids would love it. But we didn't make it. The car Dru and I were driving decided to pack it in and die on us. The alternator went out. So lucky for us Dru was driving and got up parked up at a petrol station in Auckland. There happend to be a mini van taxi that was filling up at the station so Lenoard went up to him and asked if he could take the rest of their luggage and other passenger to the airport. He said great and they were off. We said bye and were happy they just made it to the airport. Mum and Pete are members of AA which is like triple A in USA and they came out and told us what we knew. It was the alternator. They said they could tow the car down to Tok with all of us for $560. So mum decided to send my brother up in the camry and we swaped battries all the way back to Tok. We had the walkie talkies and had a great time. We swapped it three times on the way down and had lots of fun talking amongst each other with the walkie talkies. So what ended up being a bad situation turned out pretty fun. While we were waiting for my brother we had fish and chips and got to meet this girl my brother, Haydn, met at the YSA conference. She's really nice, go Haydn. Anyway that was a bit of fun. It's all fixed now and running. Thanks to Pete and mum. This week Dru helped Llewellyn finish the outside BBQ area. It looks great. I'll take a picture of it. We've had Sarah's kids for two days, so that's been exciting. We just got back from the pools. They had a practice fire drill and we had to rush outside in our togs and wait for them to do an inspection. All the kids were worried. I kept telling them it's not real, and their clothes would be fine, the pools weren't going to burn down!!
Nothing too much else has been happening. So I thought I'd just take some close ups of Yuki so you can get a good look of her. She's doing great. She's eating around 5 times a day and sleeping 12/13 hours at night. She's giggling a lot and loves company. She's quite white. I can't remember Masaru being that white, not that he wasn't, I just can't remember. Her hair is still dark, so we'll see if it sticks. Her eyes are still very blue, so we'll see if that sticks as well. She's half rolling from her back to front. She almost makes it rolling left but not yet. It looks like it'll be soon. She's starting to reach out for things to play with and hold things.
Sorry no pic's of Masaru. He doesn't change as fast as Yuki though so one week without pic's of him should be alright. We're considering giving him a haircut. I've been contemplating styles. So maybe that will be one of next weeks pictures.

Five places I would love to see (there are soooo many!)
1-Jerusalem, yes I too want to walk where Jesus walked
2-Italy...most of Europe for that matter, but for some reason Italy has always held my interest. Ryan and I are hoping to take a biking tour there in the next year or two
3-Japan. I would love to see what I've read about and seen in pictures, particularly to visit the homelands of some of Ryan's ancestors
4-I would like to visit the little corner of the world where Ryan served his mission. Asuncion Paraguay and the new temple there, and the little tri-corner area of Paraguay, Argentina. and Brazil where he spent so much time. It would be fun to see Iguazu Falls...one of the great wonders of the world.
5-South Africa, with a little side trip to Tanzania to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Five things I never thought about when I was 25:
1-Never thought I might be done having children by 28
2-Never thought I would live across the street from my in-laws (and enjoy it by the way)
3-Never thought it might take me seven years total to finish ONE bachelor's degree
4-Never knew I could feel so happy in my life, love my husband so much more than the day I married him, and adore so much the cute little faces of my four boys. Never thought I might not have a daughter.
5-Never thought my stomach would look like a deflated balloon

I would love to visit many places in the word, but here are a few I haven't been to and would love to see.
#1-Egypt, always sad about missing out on that trip while we were in Russia.
#2-Jerusalem/Petra, I would love to see all the sights of the scriptures.
#3-More of Europe, I feel like we just only touched the surface there(England, France, Italy,Estonia,Russia,Turkey,Germany, Belgium, Netherlands).
#4-Peru, before they close Machu Picchu for good.
#5-Africa, I've always wanted to see the big 5 animals.

Five things that I would never have thought I would be doing when I was 25.
#1- never thought I would fly for United, and loose many friends in 9-11
#2- never thought that I would have to wait so long to find a husband.
#3-never thought I would reside in LA, or anywhere in California for that matter.
#4-never thought that the Church would play such a big part of my life, and the life of my little family(primary presidency, 2nd counselor of the bishopric).
#5-never thought that getting pregnant and pregnancy would be so difficult.
