Fun road trip game!!!

So I've been tagged. I was explaining to Dru about it and he said it sounded like a fun game to play on a road trip with each other or a mate.
I guess we've got road trip on the mind since in 2 weeks we're taking a 10 hour one!!
So read on if you want. It's a lot of questions. I'll be impressed if you make it through.


1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
Nope just my middle name. I think everyone knows that story though. Jeane is french and is a guy who save my grandpa in the second world war. My dad's middle name is Jeane and obviously mine is and Masaru's is. I'm hoping Masaru's future wife will be ok with naming their first kids middle name Jeane. We'll see.

2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
Hmmmmmmmmm well I think it might be at this lesson I did at relief society a couple of Sundays ago. It wasn't much of a cry though, a few tears! (Yeah right)

3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING?
Yep

4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT?
It changes with my mood. At the moment I like this turkey with sun dried tomato seasoning that you can get at Smiths.

Yeah I think I'd really like me. If I could get past some stupid things I say we'd be great mates.

Yes. My MTC Pres. wife did a lesson on it one Sunday and stared at me the whole time. Her and her hubby didn't like me much. I'm glad they were just my MTC leaders and not my mission.

That's a big h@#$ no. I've had many opportunities. I decided to spend my money on a jewlery box instead.

Mozart, here we come!

Many of you know that I've been looking for just the right piano for about three years. I know, three years is a long time, but truthfully, it really just comes down to money. I wanted an old upright grand and I'd hoped to get one that was already restored, but eventually realized that I might have to settle for something that I could restore bit by bit, as I could afford it. Anyway, we found this piano in Boise and drove up (and back) last Friday to pick it up. It is arts & crafts (mission) influenced, which seems very hard to find and is what we love. We may not even need to restore the exterior as much as we'd thought since it cleaned up so well when we brought it home. The inside needs considerable work, which is ok with us since we both love it. Several of you asked me to post pics, so here we go.

7 years baby!

Look what's happend in the last 7 years of the 'Dru Melissa, hook up' Dru's hair is as short as the day we were married, I've put on some pounds and would you look at that, we've got two more tag a longs!

We celebrated 7 years yesterday, well we were married in NZ so really if you going by NZ terms, technically it was Saturday! Anyway we went out on Friday night to dinner at the cheesecake factory and a movie at the gateway. We saw the new batman and we LOVED IT. Man the Heath is one good actor mate. It's a sad tale he's no longer with us.
I ended up buying 2 hats for me out of a bargin bin. I couldn't believe they were in the bargin bin. I guess one man's junk is anothers treasure right, and we also got the kids some fun things to do in sacrament from boarders book store.
Man we spent like a hour just in there. I'm a sucker for book stores.

I thought this middle picture was appropriate as Dru is either working really hard or sleeping. That's been our whole marriage!
Dru's the hardest worker I know. Our marriage is no exception. I know Dru will forever work just as hard on our union as all the assigments and houses that has and will come his way.
I hope everyone feels the same way I do in their marriage and that's the luckiest girl alive!
I have a feeling this 7th year is gonna be a doozie!
I hope we're still smiling like this on our 8th!
Jokes man jokes. I'm sure everythings gonna be fine. It's just law school. I mean really, how hard can it be?

Moving

Ok we heard from BYU and we're for sure moving to Idaho. We didn't make the cut this week and so the next cut is only once school starts on the 20th. So we're packing up putting the house up for rent and moving on the 15th or 16th for sure.
So anyone knows of anyone who wants a house to rent in a good neighbourhood let them know.
I gotta go start packing.

Perfect

Aren't kids just perfect when they're sleeping!?! Somehow Yuki managed to get all her toys in her crib together in one corner to protect her from all the monsters, if they happen to come during the night, you know, through the wardrobe.

BYU

Dru went down to Provo yesterday to meet with the dean.
Dru said he had his 'poker' face on but it was a good visit.
The dean said the waitlist is small and they're making some decisions next week.
Also there's some people who turn up the first day and decide it's not for them or just plain don't turn up.
So if he gets called a day after law school starts we'll pack up all our stuff in Idaho and take the loss and move to an apartment down Orem ways for a year because the renters in our house would've signed a contract for a year.
Dru said he felt good about it.
The dean said emails and calls aren't effective and he's glad Dru came down to visit him.
Dru says he thinks it gave him a face to the name as well as a little more insight to why he wants to practice law and why BYU.
So I'm glad he went down and I think it was a great visit.
So fingers still crossed!

Lesson today

Whilst going through the loft the other night I found a letter to myself that I could only open when I was married. I also had written one to my future husband.
It was pretty cool to read.
I still haven't let Dru read the one for him. I think with all my sorting I packed it up again and forgot where I put it. Oh well.
One thing that struck me though was my testimony!
It was really great to read!
Today I taught the death lesson in church!
I think it was one of the hardest things I've had to do. I still can't believe I did it.
I'm not even a permanant teacher, just a one time sub!!
Anyway I was crying before I got up to the pulpit. Never a good sign......................it just went downhill from there!!
I think I lost it a couple of times. One time pretty bad..............I think I was actually sobbing and had to get a much needed hug from a sister in the room.
I was asked if I could keep going, it was pretty sad.
I don't know if I ever stopped really crying the whole lesson.
My fathers' death is still so hard for me even more so because of how he died.
BUT in doing this lesson I got to study Joseph Smith's words.
What a great prophet and truly great man he is. What brilliant and inspired words he had to say.
I think I'll always be hanging onto the lesson and those words my whole life.
I have a testimony of this gospel and it's teachings.
Sometimes it's the only thing that gets me through.
And through reading that letter to myself I've realized how I've always had this testimony of the gospel and my saviour.
I think it's going to take a while before I can outwardly 'rejoice' the passing of a loved one, but I can work on it right?
I think in a lot of ways I do rejoice though.
I rejoice to know where he is and what he's doing.
I rejoice to know I'm going to see him again and be able to talk to him.
I rejoice because of the truthfulness I have in my life.
Most importantly though I rejoice in my saviour, because without him, all of us would be lost, and none of us would be seeing anyone in wonderful situations.
What would I do without this truth?
Probably not be able to rejoice about anything to do with death, that's for sure.
I'm pretty glad today's over, but I'm grateful for the experience, I think!
